Hypocrisy

So fucking powerful.

can’t get over this

every fucking time..

The “poor” are a permanent fixture in our society. The masses look to them as a reminder of where they do not want to be and that they have it pretty good compared. They do not truly wish to obliterate poverty. They only want to maintain and redefine it to manage their guilt. Because if there were no poor people, who would plant, grow, harvest, and serve their food? Sew their clothes? Build their homes? Clean their water? Manage their garbage and waste? Who would do these things for the privileged masses?

No one.

But if you are incapable of earning a decent wage and are forced to live in poverty due to circumstances that you have zero control over, I will understand and empathize. I will gladly pay a portion of my earnings to help you. I just do not want to be forced by gunpoint to do so, and I also do not want those who are capable but unwilling to take advantage of what I am meaning to give to you.

What was a policeman, if not a civilian with a uniform and a badge? But they tended to use the term [civilian] these days as a way of describing people who were not policemen. It was a dangerous habit: once policemen stopped being civilians, the only other thing they could be was soldiers.
